Not Quite Spring At Cascade Bluff Yet!

Over the first weekend in April, we headed up to Cascade Bluff for a long weekend of R and R!
Here is Val enjoying the early spring sunshine on our deck... Oh yeah!

The white stuff was melting like crazy, and rocks we forgot we had showed their craggy heads...

Nice view up the hill -- blue skies, melting snow, a great solar power day!

We had a nice stroll, keeping an eye out for signs of black bears waking up from their slumber... didn't see anything so far....

Cascade River is open and rushing along... It is that dark stripe in the middle...

And then....

Ol' Man Winter ain't quite done with us yet!

Another 10 inches or so of really wet, heavy white stuff landed on us from Sunday to Monday, April 3 to 4. When we got ourselves out of there on Monday and headed home, we hit Hwy 61 and found NO new snow at all, in fact, hardly any snow left! Talk about micro-climates! Cascade Bluff, Pike Lake and Deer Yard Lake should have their own weather station!

We will be heading up again on the evening of April 14 for several days, and the report from friends is MUD season is just starting! Can't wait! Babe is READY!!
